Thank you for all the words of encouragement
I can play it a bit better most of the time but as soon as I push the red buttons it all goes to mush .I worked really hard on umbuncture to get single notes my blows are better than my draws .
I think I am getting better tho slowly
Dezzy I'll let u in to a secret I really really want to play a song for the alphabet challenge .I am as motivated to get this right as I think I can be
As promised here is a very short video of me playing I decided to only play one lil rhyme and a blues riff I do everyday hope u guys like it lol
I don't spend money willy nilly Eric I will research almost any purchase thourughly .
I will do u guys a video today of 2 nursery rhymes I'd hope I'm not tone deff
This is the one I can get next payday what do u guys think
I'll be honest I think it's a happy medium between the two sarge I imagine u have the back as well as the ear that's come from years of using the harp .all.of you are good players so conflicting advice is harder to process if you get what I mean .
My first harmonica wassnt a total waste of money as it showed me I actually enjoyed playing this instrument and I had a chance of getting ok at it .getting a decent sounding harmonica has been amazing and has upped my enjoyment lvl of playing
I just want to have fun and get better .if I don't buy another harmonica I'll just waste my luxury budget on rubish off Amazon anyway (sounds grand luxury budget buts actually low) I figured maybe a chromatic would give me some thing else to practice and stop and boredom but a different key diatonic makes just as much sense as we all need a rudementtory set as sarge told me before
I do tend to just play a random melody up and down the harmonica .it's when I'm following tabs and have to go from say 3draw to 6blow and just don't get it right .but I understand it's all practice .
I've been on almost all the harmonica websites for lessons and tabs harmonica tabs, org has the tab above the notation da I can send the tests and when to hold notes but they have a very limited amount of songs .
I'd like to do Skype lessons but imagine they are expensive
Buying a 20 pound chromatic would-be my budget
Honestly just want to be able to play and ppl not be driven from the room (this happens less now)
It makes perfect sense when u saying like that .I just don't think about playing pop songs on the harmonica I guess but as it's a instrument I am limiting my self lol
I fancyed a special 20 next Eric I feel comfortable with this lee oskar tho so maybe a chromatic will be fun to play with I have a diatonic in c coming the same kind sarge plays
I will look into a chromatic but I thought swan were a name to avoid ?? The only other harmonica players I know are you guys I'd love to have a chat with some one online
I am practising usually in a couple of 20/40 min bursts a day
My best friend's mum stitched me a case so I can have it with me almost all the time and not rattle in the horrible plastic box they all seem to come in (surprising the cheap one I have has the nicer box)
Thanks guys I'm off to try one of the songs Keith has suggested
I can play the single notes almost competently it's just stringing them together and not rushing through the songs .slot of the problem I have is the tab doesn't really say when to miss a beat before paying the next note so every thing I play sounds rushed or to slow .
Ohh and my harmonica isn't in c so a lot of the tab sounds a lil funky when I play it as some of the notes are different I think
Love all of these and it's sent me on a rediscovering of Irish folk and rebel music (both sides) there really is a lot of melody's that cross over. as in the Wearing of the green and the orange and the green just little differences in tempo and instrument .just my ears veiw on it anyways
It's listening to your videos that keeps me playing away
