He's right frank, I started 6 months ago and I'm reeling of some awesome licks! Pocket sized means you can take it everywhere. 5 mins practice here and there can go a long way!
Thanks Keith, I know of the SPAH and was hoping for something uk based like that, I'll give it a look,
Hey there fellow Harpists... I'm new to the site and wanted to say "Hey there fellow Harpists" so I did... I finally got over my idleness and dropped a Harmonica on my birthday wish list 6 months ago. Much to my wife's regret haha.
I am a keen study though and I have been putting some solid practice in and ripping some great licks now, as well as some soulful classical pieces and even grabbed a Harmonic Minor (Am) for my circus shows (Love that key...) I consider myself as an Intermediate (on the entry side of) I have no issues hitting single notes, bends aren't too bad in the lower register, improvisation is developing well and I'm jamming well for a musician who spent the last 27 of 33 years not being a musician haha. But the recorder will only take you so far.
I wanted to know if anyone knows of any decent/regular Harp Clubs or Blues Clubs in the UK... Everything I have searched for is just so sporadic. I am gutted I missed the Blues Festival in Uttoxeter at the beginning of the month (BOO WORK) but that's like a yearly thing. While I would preferably like to attend clubs in the Midlands but I don't mind a little travel. I can find local jam sessions but a lot of the places seem very genre specific and I am not finding the right music I want to jam to.
Thanks in advance
