For us it was "Sing Along with Mitch" (Miller). We would all gather around the TV as a family and sing along.. nice stuff.
Also they had the bouncing ball on a variety of cartoons we used to watch.

It's those kind of music memories that we try to connect with when we play. Mostly folks are about 15 years older than us, so a lot of common ground with them. Many know the songs from the radio and big band records that were popular when they were young.
(I was just a youngster about 5 or 6 yrs old when tv came to our household.)

also musically it was just as Frank Sinatra was being replaced by Elvis and early Rock an Roll. So we play Blue Suede Shoes or Rock Around the Clock for them. We just tone them down a little.

Yes, spideryak, Mitch Miller was another we sang to regularly. I still play 2 of his CDs. A bit old fashioned now but memorable.
