@All,
I haven't seen this here before so I thought I would post. ALL musicians learn from listening,
and often times you can hear their influences in their playing. Listening is a big part of my daily
practice/rehearsal time. Who are some of you cats (and kittens!) listening to?
At present I am digging Cash Box Kings, "Black Toppin'" Red Devils, "King King"
Treat Her Right, "Treat Her right" Kim Wilson "Tiger Man" Pokey Lafarge "Pokey Lafarge
to name a few.
Regards, Reed

Brother Reed, Y'all,

You mentioned that you are (also) a Bb fan. Here's one of my learning/listening tunes in Bb -

As mentioned elsewhere I'm always on the lookout for tunes that could use harmonica, like:
Robert Ward - Black Bottom
Bad Company - Burning Sky
Clint Black - Nothin' But the Tail Lights
Steven Seagal - Dark Angel
Sammy Kershaw - Louisiana Hot Sauce
Kip Moore - Something 'Bout a Truck
Jonny Lang - Lie To Me

To name a few. There are a couple of chromatic tunes that introduced me to ,and helped me learn from, them> But I digress.

Gotta keep the diatonic hummin', eh?

Be Blues...And Jazz,

Suave Blues Man

@All,
I enjoy new finds that I hadn't heard yet like Doug Deming and the Jewel Tones (with Dennis Gruenling on harmonica)
The Igor Prado band knocks me out! Brazilian cats who have done their homework, not a harmonica band, but very good chops none the less. The Mannish Boys are hot. I like Greg Brown a lot, dunno what kind of music it is other than good.
If you all have not heard Pokey Lafarge and the South City Three you are might be in for a great surprise. Young players doing old timey/vaudeville/hokum/country/blues with incredible sensibilities and musical talents. Sarge (Jim) you would love this!
Regards, Pete

I listen to a lot of ..Mike Bullfrog Rodgers...plus I'm taking lessons from him so I am partial to him.
Very prolific song writter, love his harmonica playing.

... also these days I find myself listening to Papa John Kolstad..with Wild man Mike Turk playing harp...from days gone by
....starting to listen to William Clark... I like his music, has a nice sound to it

....I'm fond of music from the 1930's and what not..so I guess you would call it Light Swing that I like playing

I'll try and look up some links at a later time.....

found one...

here I found Mike and Bev Rodgers with Salt River.
www.harmonicaworkshops.com/media/Uptown%20Fred.mp3

it's a favorite song, love the imagery from someone who has been without sight for many years.
Great song whether sighted or not ...Uptown Fred...
