This song, The Lark in the Clear Air was new to me a few weeks ago. I liked the strange tune that did not seem to have any consistent rhythm. In fact in one version I found the time signature changed every few bars. Here is my version of the tune.

Here is Ernie Gordon playing it at the NHL in 2003 where he mentions that it was a Northumberland pipe tune however I found another story that suggests that the tune is Irish. I don’t see why its origin is important. I like the tune.

Ernie Gordon’s tribute to Will Atkinson.

That's kind of a mournful tune that reminds me of another song, but i can't remember what it is. You played it quite well Drifter.

Nice playing, Drifter. :)

(It kind of sounds like a lament.)
