This is not a complaint, just a general enquiry as to how others find the speed of this forum. For me it takes anything between 30 and 60 seconds to navigate from one page to another, my browser often times out and I have to try again. How is it for you?

I do find this to be a slow forum. My experience isn't as bad as yours. I've never had the browser time out. But 15 seconds between pages is common for me. For example, when I clicked on "Reply Topic", it took 15 seconds for the reply box to appear. It's not a deal breaker but it's a bit odd. However, I always consider the possibility that it's some issue at my end of the connection so I never never mentioned it.

it's the same for me. It never times out, but I often keep another tab going (like news or something) so I have something to read while I wait for the forum to respond. It's a bit noticeable but worth the wait for me.

Yep same here, but I always seem to have a harmonica nearby.
Today it just happens to be a Hohner Little Lady, 4 holes, C . I have
worked out a little swing jazz/blues improv on it that I started playing
while waiting for the pages to load. I know that time passes, but I don't
notice how much, or how long. I can even bend the first hole down a
half or whole step, although the note is D, so bending it down a full step
just brings be back to C.

Agreed, thanks for bringing this up Clogger. Like other members, I thought the slow speed was something to do with my internet connection so I never mentioned it.

Some experimentation might be needed to discover the cause. My guess is a site like this this has extensions or plugins which add functionality but at the cost of speed. But it would be well worthwhile to investigate; the site might even become slower as traffic increases...

Yep I've noticed this myself, I was going to blame it on all your internet connections :woohoo:
I'll have a look into it and see if I can improve it.
